Kind of vent art, but not. :/
Mostly I just needed to work on something more 'personal'.
Anyway, these are the three horses who need time to 'heal'.
From left to right:
Hickstead, the (smallish) Dutch stallion with a heart of gold and a temperament to match. Truthfully, he was an accident, though a talented one who was forever jumping the fences into the other pastures and getting frisky with the fillies. Upset that an 'accident' was causing him such grief, his owner sold him to slaughter where he was shunted from one feed lot to the next. It was at one of these feed lots where he got the nasty scars on his shoulder, probably in an attempt to jump the fences there, too. Eventually, a kind soul recognized his talent and rescued him, but as she was unable to keep him, she offered him to LEC, where he now has a permanent home.
Argonaut, the Hannoverian stallion who had a bad run-in with some barbed wire. The scars are healing well, and prove no hindrance to his movement so far, much to the relief of the staff of LEC.
And Sonatina, the Hannoverian x TB mare rescued from a property near BHS, in Australia. A sweet but melencholy mare, Sonatina has spent most of her time recovering from malnutrition, a bad leg wound, the following infection and neglect. She's put back all the weight she'd lost and is in much better health.
